PBIS School-Wide Expectations

At Green Elementary School, we have established a set of universal behavior expectations for all students in every area of the school. These expectations are positively stated and promote core values such as safety, kindness, and responsibility. Our school-wide expectations are based on the principle that all students should conduct themselves in a safe, kind, and responsible manner—this is what we refer to as being “BulldogStrong.” Classes have been introduced to a BulldogStrong School-Wide Behavior Expectations matrix, which serves as a reminder of the behaviors we expect from our students throughout the building.

Positive behavior is recognized, rewarded, and celebrated every day. When students follow the expectations, they receive BulldogStrong pom poms. Each homeroom class selects a reward to work toward and collaborates to fill their class jar with these pom poms. Once the jar is full, the entire class celebrates by enjoying a special reward or incentive. This process teaches students the importance of teamwork and demonstrates that being safe, kind, and responsible leads to success.
“The goal of Positive Behavior Support is not to create “perfect children”. Rather, the goal [is to] create the perfect environment for enhancing their growth.” -Randy Sprick
We encourage you to engage in daily conversations with your children about the expectations that exist in their individual classrooms and in our school. You could also create a BulldogStrong home matrix together.

Ohio's Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) Recognition System celebrates the achievements of schools and districts. Each year, the Ohio Department of Education and the PBIS Network recognize schools and districts for their effective implementation of PBIS practices. Last year, during the 2024-2025 school year, Green Primary and Green Intermediate Schools received silver-level state recognition for their efforts.
